Arpit Kumar

Arpit Kumar is a Postdoctoral Associate at the Notre Dame Learning | Kaneb Center for Teaching Excellence. He also serves as a Postdoctoral Teaching Scholar at the University of Notre Dame. Arpit assumes the postdoctoral roles having served as a graduate instructor for the University Writing Program and the Department of English. His pedagogy prioritizes the cultivation of critical thinking in an empathetic and diverse classroom environment.

Arpit holds a Ph.D. from Notre Dame, which he earned in 2023, as well as an M.Phil. (2016), an M.A. (2014), and a B.A. Hons. (2012) from the University of Delhi (Ramjas College). He was a Distinguished Graduate Fellow at the Notre Dame Institute for Advanced Study during 2022–23. Arpit’s research examines literature concerned with the travels of 18th-century and Romantic sociability, especially in British imperial contexts.
