Si Chen, a postdoctoral researcher at the Lucy Family Institute for Data & Society and with Notre Dame Learning, presented a paper on designing interactive agents to support instructors’ teaching at the 26th International Conference on Artificial Intelligence in Education. Coauthors on the study are Reid Metoyer from Columbia University and Notre Dame’s Khiem Le, Adam Acunin, Izzy Molnar, Alex Ambrose, James Lang, Nitesh Chawla, and Ron Metoyer.

“Expanding your readership usually means expanding yourself as a writer, and that includes playing with both structure and evidence,” writes Jim Lang, a professor of the practice in Notre Dame Learning’s Kaneb Center for Teaching Excellence. “You don’t have to write experimental novels about your scholarship or abandon traditional forms of evidence in your discipline. Just approach the work of writing as you approach your teaching: with a willingness to experiment, learn, and grow in the service of your learners.”
