Transparent Assignment Design

Transparent Assignment Design results in a positive impact on self-efficacy and a sense of belonging for all students, with particular benefits for students who historically have not been as represented in higher education, such as first-generation students (Winkelmes et al., 2019, p. 1). It makes learning processes explicit, fosters the development of students’ metacognition, confidence, and sense of belonging, and benefits both underserved and high-achieving students. In this workshop, you will apply the transparent design framework to assignments in your class.

For more information, see our Transparent Assignment Design resource page.
