Introduction to Inclusive Pedagogy
How can we create relevant and accessible learning experiences that support success for all students? In this workshop, we will discuss some of the basic principles of, and best practices for, inclusive teaching that include:
- helping all students see and reach their potential;
- building structure into our curricula and class sessions;
- communicating clearly;
- methods for equitable assessment and grading;
- enhancing active learning and increasing in-class student interaction.
The workshop will offer strategies for implementing these practices in ways that could improve course experiences and learning outcomes for all Notre Dame students.
