Equitable and Effective Team-Based Learning
This workshop will explore inclusive strategies for facilitating student interaction and designing effective teams. Participants have the opportunity to consider assessment criteria for evaluating student groups, strategies for inviting students to co-create team contracts, and the benefits of assigning student roles within group projects.
Learning Goals
After successfully completing this workshop you will be able to:
- Gain teaching strategies for designing and supporting equitable teams
- Assign effective student roles in group projects
- Create opportunities for students to assess the contributions of both themselves and their peers in teamwork
- Generate a plan for both formative and summative assessment of group work
