Facilitated by campus experts, this hyper-focused series covers rapid, actionable digital accessibility fixes, providing maximum impact in minimum time to help you enhance teaching effectiveness, eliminate digital barriers, and support student success.
How It Works: The 20-Minute Blueprint
Every session follows a What, Why, How format. This one will cover:
- What: An overview of the specialized tools and campus-wide software supported by Sara Bea.
- Why: Knowing what tools are already available at Notre Dame helps you better support students with accommodations, point struggling students to free resources (like Kurzweil 3000, which is available to all ND students), and design course materials that work seamlessly with these technologies.
- How: How students set up and use campus AT tools (Kurzweil 3000, dictation, and reading extensions like OpenDyslexic or Screen Mask), and how to connect students with an Access Consultant through the Center for Student Support and Care.
To help you save even more time, we will also highlight smart strategies for leveraging generative AI to fast-track these accessibility fixes wherever possible.
You’ll leave every session not just with awareness, but with a practical skill you can apply to your Canvas site or instructional materials before your next class begins.
