Feedback on Student Writing: Time-Saving and Effective Strategies

-

Location: Jenkins Nanovic Halls Room 1030

When instructors provide extensive feedback on student writing, they often feel frustrated when they don’t see progress on the student’s next writing assignment. Why do some students improve their writing skills in response to feedback, while others don’t? In this workshop, we will begin with a quick overview of the research on feedback on student writing, and then provide a small number of strategies that can help instructors both save time in responding to student work and ensure that their feedback has the intended impact on the student’s learning.
