Almost two decades ago, Mark yanked the keyboard away from his slow-typing father and mashed in the winning auction bid at the buzzer for a LEGO Video Camera. He has been passionate about filmmaking ever since.
As Post-Production Manager, Mark collaborates with the Office of Digital Learning Team and Faculty to sculpt raw video recordings into exciting final products. In his collaborations, he has done everything from green screen keying to color correction, to VFX compositing, to sound mixing for virtual reality. He particularly enjoys sound design, weaving vibrant aural complexities into ODL’s videos wherever possible.
Additionally, Mark has been a recurring guest lecturer in Production courses for the Department of Film, Television, and Theatre, as well as a Term Assistant Teaching Professor in the Computing and Digital Technologies Program at the University of Notre Dame.
Before becoming a member of the ODL Team, Mark worked for Academic Digital Media Services in the Office of Information Technologies, and at a Hollywood post-production facility before that. Mark received his B.A. in English and Japanese from Notre Dame, before crossing enemy lines to attain an M.F.A. in Film and Television Production at the University of Southern California.
When not sequestered in an editing bay, Mark enjoys spending time in the great outdoors with his wife and kids.
