Inclusiveness

Considerations:

Including a statement on inclusion illustrates your commitment to creating spaces where all students are welcome, valued, and provided an equal opportunity to succeed. It should explain how you will demonstrate that commitment in your class and invite students to contribute to creating and maintaining an inclusive learning environment.

Suggested Language:

I am committed to and strive to maintain a positive learning environment based on open communication, mutual respect, and non-discrimination. In this class we will not discriminate on the basis of race, gender, sex, age, economic class, disability, veteran status, religion, sexual orientation, color, or national origin. Any suggestions as to how to further such a positive and open environment will be appreciated and given serious consideration.
