Equitable and Effective Team-Based Learning
In this workshop, we will explore inclusive strategies for facilitating student interaction and designing effective teams. Participants have the opportunity to consider: assessment criteria for evaluating student groups; strategies for inviting students to co-create team contracts; and the benefits of assigning student roles within group projects.
After successfully completing this workshop you will be able to:
- Gain teaching strategies for designing and supporting equitable teams
- Assign effective student roles in group projects
- Create opportunities for students to assess the contributions of both themselves and their peers in teamwork
- Generate a plan for both formative and summative assessment of group work
