Traditional models of assessment – exams, essays, etc. – often fail to engage students and may not accurately reflect student learning. By offering assessment alternatives, instructors not only meet the needs of their students (UDL), but also challenge students creatively by introducing interdisciplinary thinking and transferable skills. In this workshop, participants will be introduced to the key tenets of multimodal assessment design, implementation, and evaluation. Throughout the workshop there will be opportunities for you to apply these strategies to your own course and develop at least one asset to use in your teaching.
