Kuangchen Hsu
Senior Learning Designer
Kuangchen Hsu is a senior learning designer in Notre Dame Learning’s Office of Digital Learning (ODL), where he is also an associate teaching professor with a concurrent appointment from the Technology & Digital Studies Programs in the College of Arts and Letters. His work draws on learning theory, cognitive science, and the philosophy of digital media and technologies to design enriched learning experiences.
One of Kuangchen’s primary research interests is game-based learning, which he incorporates in his design to amplify learner engagement through emotional resonance. He is also passionate about applying user-centered UX principles to instructional design in his teaching, ensuring tailored learning environments that match what learners really need. A frequent presenter at conferences, he shares insights on emerging trends and best practices in the digital teaching and learning domain.
Outside of his professional commitments, Kuangchen finds relaxation and tranquility in watercolor painting, blending colors and water to craft unique art pieces.
