Horane Diatta-Holgate is an assistant teaching professor and the program director of inclusive pedagogy in Notre Dame Learning’s Kaneb Center for Teaching Excellence, where he supports and consults with instructors (faculty and graduate students) on cultivating inclusive classroom environments for and with their students. He also provides support to instructors developing their intercultural knowledge and competence to enact inclusive teaching practices as well as embed diversity, equity, and inclusivity throughout different elements of their courses and curricula.

Horane is a qualified administrator of several assessments for intercultural learning and development, including the Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI), Cultural Intelligence (CQ), Beliefs, Events, and Values Inventory (BEVI), and Intercultural Communication Edge (ICEdge). In addition, he has developed measures assessing students’ development of global competencies and perceptions of cultural responsiveness in the classroom environment.

A graduate of Johnson C. Smith University with a B.A. in psychology and minor in sociology, Horane holds an MSEd and Ph.D. in educational psychology and research methodology from Purdue University. Prior to joining ND Learning, he was a postdoctoral researcher in the Purdue University Center for Instructional Excellence (CIE) and College of Agriculture Office of Multicultural Programs.
