John Corba

John Corba is an award-winning producer, director, production designer, and art director whose work has spanned feature films, television shows, music videos, branded content, and countless commercials. In addition to his appointment in Notre Dame Learning’s Office of Digital Learning, he is an associate producer for Notre Dame Studios and teaches in the Department of Film, Television, and Theatre.

Prior to coming to Notre Dame, John was director of DePaul Cinespace Studios in Chicago. There he conceived, designed, and managed a 35,000-square-foot professional production soundstage facility and formed an alliance between the School of Cinematic Arts at DePaul University and Cinespace Chicago Film Studios.

John has more than 30 years of professional film and television production experience working in New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago. Being “on set,” working in a variety of capacities and departments, is his jam. He has produced a short film with Notre Dame alum Christine Swanson and was in the art department on television shows such as Chicago Fire, Shameless, Empire, The Unit, Rizzoli & Isles, and Boss.

John received his B.S. in TV/radio/film production from the Newhouse School at Syracuse University and his M.F.A. from the School of Cinematic Arts at DePaul University. When not in the classroom or on set, he enjoys surfing, cooking, and just being outdoors with his wife, Molly, and three children.
