Yasmin Aguillon
Graduate Associate
Yasmin Aguillon is a graduate associate in Notre Dame Learning’s Kaneb Center for Teaching Excellence. Currently a fourth-year Ph.D. candidate in the University of Notre Dame’s Department of Mathematics, she holds an M.S. in mathematics from Notre Dame and a B.A. in mathematics from Swarthmore College.
Her research focuses on extremal graph theory and combinatorial enumeration, specifically investigating the extremal counts of graph homomorphisms. She has also served as a teaching assistant for foundational mathematics courses, including Calculus I, Calculus II, and Calculus B, as well as a tutor in the Math Help Room and co-facilitator for the Math Circles program. In 2025, she was selected as a Summer Online fellow for the math department and has served as instructor of record for Calculus B during the Summer Online term.
Yasmin’s pedagogical interests focus on developing strategies to promote psychological safety and students’ sense of belonging in the mathematics classroom. She is also interested in exploring the intersection of pedagogy and the performing arts, specifically how educators can leverage theatre and improv techniques to humanize learning spaces.
