Kaneb Center for Teaching Excellence

The Kaneb Center for Teaching Excellence partners with instructors and students to promote the adoption of high-impact practices in teaching and learning, offering confidential consultations, interactive workshops, intensive academies, and customized programming in support of transformative, student-centered learning.

The Kaneb Center for Teaching Excellence supports the pursuit of teaching excellence by stimulating scholarly reflection and conversation about teaching and encouraging the adoption of practices that enhance learning.

The Kaneb Center was established in 1996 under the leadership of Rev. Edward A. Malloy, C.S.C., and Nathan O. Hatch, then Notre Dame’s president and provost, respectively, with the support of John Kaneb. Endowed by the Kaneb family in 2016, the center comprises educational developers, learning researchers, and program managers, providing research-based services, programs, and resources that support teaching and reflective practice at Notre Dame.
